Bucky Bingo Review
NOTICE: Bucky Bingo was been sold by Betfred (Petfre) in September 2023. The brand will continue with a new owner and will will update the details on that when we know more. The site will continue to be operated by Grand Battery Holdings and will remain on the Dragonfish network.
Bucky Bingo was born in 2011, out of the former brand Buckingham Bingo that was launched online in 2007. The ever popular Buckingham bingo halls will be remembered by more experienced players, dating back even further to 1970, and they still operate today under the new name Club3000, and the Castle Leisure Clubs.
The joyous Bucky Bingo platform operates on the Dragonfish network (having moved from Virtue Fusion in 2020). Bucky Bingo continues Buckingham’s original ethos, which was to provide excellence in bingo fun and offer outstanding customer care.
Although it’s one of the smaller sites powered by this platform, it is definitely one of the most welcoming, and like the testament of one of their players; “you don’t get lost in the system like you can with other sites“. The site is has also recently undergone a transformation when they switched network and now gives players an enhanced gaming experience, with higher definition graphics that are good on mobiles too.
One of the most unique features of this particular site, is Bucky the Horse himself. Follow along with his blog and see what lovely bonuses he has up his sleeve (do horses have sleeves?). From promotions to exclusive games and prizes, he always “Bucks up” with some exciting news.
The bingo on offer here is classic and simple, with decent chat and very active chat hosts. Players have the option of either 75 or 90-ball bingo, and there’s also a ton of free bingo on offer each week too. There is a smaller selection of side games available than usual, but Bucky Bingo is most definitely about, well, bingo.
Rewards & Promotions
Bucky always pops up with some fantastic bonuses and promotions, and not just for the bingo either. There are often promos running on the slots as well as tournaments which can be great fun and extra rewarding if you do well. You don’t always see tournaments at bingo sites, they are much more common at online casinos, but its a nice extra at Bucky.
Bucky are also known for their loyalty rewards scheme and given their experience in the bingo world they know a little bit about what customers want.
One of the little touches that make Bucky one of the friendlier sites out there is the fact that they offer bespoke rewards; so if you play only bingo they are unlikely to offer your free spins, but if you have been daubing and spinning in equal measure you might get a mix of free bingo tickets and free spins, for example.
Basically, they pay attention to what you like and give you more of it.
They are also known for their generosity around birthdays and at Christmas, and aren’t shy of surprising customers with unexpected bonuses for no particular reason either. Lovely.
Bingo Games & Software
Bucky Bingo now operates on the Dragonfish network having moved from the Virtue Fusion platform in 2020. Most would agree Dragonfish suits the brand better as it is more vibrant and in keeping with Bucky.
The choice of game types is just right here, with enough variety to keep everyone happy but also keeping the lobby tidy and easy to look through. The majority of the games are 90 ball or 75 ball games, but there are also a few 52-ball variations to keep things interesting, and all rooms have slightly different rules or features.
For example some have jackpots, some have progressive jackpots, some have set minimums, and the ticket price varies from game to game too, starting at a penny but with most being about 5p – although there is one for £10! To be fair though the prize in that room is £10k.
Every day of the week Bucky also offers tons of free bingo to chance your arm at, and some of the bonuses you can win are pretty large too. It’s a great introduction to the game if you are new to it but even bingo veterans can enjoy a freebie, plus, they run for ages, it’s not just a single free game.
The chat room hosts at Bucky are super alert, run a lot of chat room games and are on the ball with wishing people luck and congratulating winners. As there seem to be chat room games running all the time there are a lot of chances to wrack up loyalty points if you win the games. However currently all of the rooms are combined together so it can be a bit odd when people are shouting out numbers or congratulating winners that are not playing your game. Players do chat at Bucky but probably because of the combined chat rooms it may put some chatty folk off.
Virtue Fusion To Dragonfish
In 2020 Bucky Bingo ended a long running partnership with Virtue Fusion (now part of Playtech) to move over to Dragonfish software, this is the one made by the subsidiary game development arm of 888 Holdings.
As a well established brand on the Virtue Fusion network it was perhaps initially a surprise to see them move. VF is a very professional network and is used by the biggest betting companies but it has also become stale in recent years.
The Bucky brand has always been more vibrant and bingo focused compared to the big companies like Betfred and so the more to Dragonfish makes a lot of sense today. By making the switch they now have a software more in line with their outlook with a more dedicated bingo product, a wider network and more exciting features. It has also allowed Bucky to expand their range of slots and other games as well as revamp the site as a whole to improve the customer journey. Overall a successful move.
Side Games
Bucky Bingo does focus primarily on bingo however players will be able to find a decent selection of slots to play too. Titles are all from all kinds of different providers but for anyone that knows about slotting you will recognise names like NetEnt and IGT.
There are around 650 slots, and these include big name progressive jackpots like Hall of Gods and Mega Fortune which regularly climb into the millions; in fact, many progressive jackpot slots have been won by bingo players spinning on the side of a game of bingo.
There are instant win or scratch card type games available too which are a little less intensive but can be just as rewarding, so it just depends what mood you are in. There is certainly something for everyone in this collection.

Conclusion
Some sites these days can be quite overwhelming, with hundreds of gaming options and bingo twists. If you’re looking for a site that keeps things simple but also keeps things fun fun fun, then Bucky Bingo might be the one for you.
The layout is clear and the bingo options are great, with loads of ways to benefit on top of winning thanks to rewards and promotions. Bucky Bingo may have limited choice in terms of bingo compared to some bigger brands, but all games on offer are of very high standard and they could never be called lacking.
When all is said and done it is a really nice site, with a friendly feel and plenty to do.
