Umbingo Review

Umbingo is a Jumpman site, although it started life as one of 888’s bingo site’s using their Dragonfish network.
It closed soon after but Jumpman bought the brand and revived it.
The name has to be a play on the old Umbongo drink advert, right?
You remember, the song went like this:
“Way down deep in the middle of the Congo, a hippo took an apricot, a guava and a mango. He stuck it with the others, and he danced a dainty tango.
The rhino said, “I know, we’ll call it Um Bongo”, Um Bongo, Um Bongo, They drink it in the Congo.
The python picked the passion fruit, the marmoset the mandarin. The parrot painted packets, that the whole caboodle landed in.
So when it comes to sun and fun and goodness in the jungle, they all prefer the sunny funny one they call Um Bongo”
It went out of production in 2003 but came back in around the time the site re-launched. It’s certainly a niche angle.
Anyway, since Jumpman took over, UmBingo has been transformed into a far superior bingo website, boasting all of the things Jumpman are famous for such as trophies, lots of promotions, kooky prizes, etc.
Here’s what you can expect from Umbingo.
The Umbingo Website
Since Umbingo is quite a heavily themed site, it feels like a lot of fun as soon as you hit the homepage. The jungle vibe is the first thing you notice, and it really suits Jumpman Gaming’s general layout and approach.
Anyone who has played on one of their sites before will recognise the interface. It’s designed for mobile play first and foremost, so it does look best on a smartphone, but they have done a good job of making it look great on desktop too.
Since the site only offers bingo and slot games, navigation is as simple as it gets.
Main menu options are clear, the game interface allows players to categorise between bingo games, jackpots, hot slots, etc., and is also searchable so you can look up a specific game if you have a favourite. Everything just works. I have never once found myself frustrated while using Umbingo’s website.
When inside a bingo room you can expand it to fill the whole screen for greater immersion, but you can also open up to 3 bingo rooms and play in them at the same time. I like to use this feature when I only have a short time to play but want to get loads of bingo in – like a 15 minute tea break at work.
For players who don’t need anything else other than bingo, and perhaps a few slots, Umbingo works like a dream.
Bingo Games
What I like about playing at Umbingo, is that the games are fun and the prizes feel achievable.
You will find 9 bingo rooms to choose from, each with a jackpot of some sort, and each with its own approach and features.
For example, the Heavy Weight and Super Heavy Weight rooms only run once a day and once a week respectively, with tickets costing 25p each. However, they also have the biggest prize pots of all the rooms, and the biggest progressive jackpots too.
These are rooms players look forward to because they are the most rewarding for whoever wins. Where usually a player might win £20 for two lines, they might win £700 in the Super Heavyweight, as an example.
Then there are rooms like the Zoom Room, which is 30-ball speed bingo with 5p tickets. It’s full house or nothing in here, but there is a progressive jackpot attached, too, for an added layer of interest. The Boom Box room, on the other hand, is a great middle of the road 80-ball option with loads of ways to win, 1p tickets, and a prize that reflects the number of tickets bought. So there really is something for everyone and every mood.
The rooms all run as variations of either 90-ball, 80-ball, 75-ball, 50-ball, or 30-ball, which is a big range. Plus, Jumpman have partnered with Pragmatic Play to provide their bingo software, and this network has loads of customers, so the rooms are nice and busy.
There’s no chat room feature in Umbingo’s rooms, which is the only thing I can think of that some players might miss.
Banking
Banking Method | Max/Min Deposit | Max/Min Withdrawal | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Debit Card | £10 | £0 | 2.50 withdrawal fee |
PayPal | £10 | £0 | 2.50 withdrawal fee |
Paysafecard | £10 | n/a | Withdraw Other Method, (£2.50 fee) |
Pay By Phone | £10 | n/a | Withdraw Using Another Method (£2.50 fee) |
Jumpman are a large and well established operator, so their links with payment providers are solid.
In terms of banking options you are covered from every angle, with options for people who prefers debit cards, ewallets, pre-paid vouchers, and even pay via mobile bill availability.
The slightly less good news is that Umbingo charge £2.50 for withdrawals. For smaller stakes players this could be an issue, especially if you want to pay via mobile as it also costs £2.50 to deposit up to £20 using this method!
I know this will be galling to some players, whereas those with deeper pockets won’t mind the trade off considering the quality of the site, the games, and the promotions at Umbingo. It’s a choice you need to make for yourself.
In terms of security, you’re in good hands here, with the highest levels of encryption and online safety being used.
Promotions
Promotions are something of a speciality area for Jumpman Gaming bingo sites, and Umbingo is no different.
They have done all sorts over the years but on the whole, they are one of the most creative bingo companies in the industry when it comes to promotions.
For example, they once ran an offer where every £10 wagered on a specific slot gained an entry into a giveaway with 5 Macbook Airs up for grabs. Longer running offers have included prizes such as free food from popular restaurants and take aways. It could be anything.
They have more standard promotions too, of course, and their Happy Hours (where free spins can be won) are always popular. They are also well known for their Rewards Reel, their Mega Wheel, and their trophy system, whereby customers complete missions or achievements to win trophies, which can be traded in for Mega Wheel spins. There are some very tasty bonuses on that wheel, let me tell you.
Umbingo benefits from all of this, so it’s one of those sites where you can really get stuck into the promotions and squeeze every last penny of added value out of your deposits.
Help and Contact
There is an online support service with Umbingo, and although it is only open during office hours, response times are pretty good in my experience.
You can get in touch via:
- Live Chat – 9am – 4pm weekdays
- Email – Reply within 2 working days at most
There is also a bit of an FAQ which should clear up any basic questions you may have.
If you want to view their gambling license, it’s number 39175.
